Hi all,

A family member is after broadband. She was on dial up some years ago and has been given a computer, so wants to get online again and will be a light user.

I have checked their exchange, which is in their village so has no LLU providers (exchange only covers 1,000 properties). I checked Plusnet who have a basic package for £5.99 a month but it goes up to £11.99 a month due to using BT equipment.

Just checked some others like Sky - again they have a cheap option but can't check if that package will be accepted as I don't have their land line number.

Is £12 a month about the cheapest around for non-LLU?

Thanks

Probably. The flat fee just for connecting a user is ~£7.50, so £12 isn't leaving a great deal to pay for any bandwidth, staff, et al.

I have my mum and dad on newnet for about £13 a month light user which is non-LLU. Something like a 2gb cap, but its been fine.
