Anyone Got Any Idea's?
I Was Thinking:
2gb 800mhz Ram
Amd 7750+
(My Own Case, Mouse, Keyboard And Monitor + Speakers)
EVGA 9500gt.

Will That Max It Out?

What screen resolution will you be running it on? If you just need to run it on an SD TV (640x480) 60fps will be pretty easy. If you are talking about a popular resolution of 1680x1050 you will need a considerably more powerful rig.

Just to give you an idea, I'm running it at around 90FPS with a Intel [email protected], Nvidia 9800GT and 2GB RAM with a res of 1440x900.

I used to get around 50-60 when i was running an old 8600 as well.

P.S Forgot to mention I'm playing it maxed out with 16xQ AA forced in the Nvidia control panel.

I cant see a 9500GT maxing the game out at any resolution. I managed to play it with medium details @ 1440x900 with an 8600GTS

But really id be looking to get a 9600GT 512Mb as a minimum really.

i got a 9600gt and i managed high on most but medium for some.

it's a good card as well, gainward golden sample goes like hell edition.

Sorry, i forgot to mention resoulution, either 1280 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050, depending on the monitor i buy later on. most likly 1680 x 1050. so i need at least a 9600gt then?

My spec will play cod4 maxed out 60fps + ........ and it wouldn't cost you much at all :)

edit thats at 1440x900

edit the 4850 are better than a 9600 and are really cheap :)

does it really out perform the EVGA 9800gtx OC version? I would be getting the card second hand so it would probably be cheaper

a 4850 prob performs the same as 9800gtx, but draws less power so unless you can get it below £60. otherwise might as well get a new 4850

xbox 360 is the best solution for me.

I've just brought a itx system to replace my gaming pc, as i feel the 360 is a better more affordable option. As well as being more future proof, till the next generation of consoles come out.

Obviously this isn't the case for everyone or every game, but games like CoD4 were developed around the 360, so performance on them is optimum.

Prepare to be shot down.

Yeah i know, but to be fair any game that is developed for the console is going to be best played on there and not the pc.

PC gaming is still the best for quality, speed, etc (giving the game is developed for that platform). but the cost of running a pc and upgrading it every year with the latest gfx card is just too much to justify for myself.

I recently upgraded my system but my old one was:

Intel E1400 (around £40)
4GB of some Value 800MHz RAM (bought for about £30)
Gigabyte EP43-S3L mobo (around £60)
512mb 8800 GT (got second hand for £50)

Ran fine with everything maxed at 1680x1050 on that pretty basic setup... cost me £180 in total I guess from those figures :p
