Cheapest place for a full car history check?

Picking up a 2nd hand car later this afternoon in a private sale, did a google for car history checks and hit with so many results not sure which I should use.

Whats the best site that isn't really expensive for a car check? Thanks.

Just go with the legit hpi check.
Think it's normally a tenner per car or 20 for 3.

There's sometimes discount codes and cash back so check that too

Just found RAC do one for £15 but with £3.45 cashback via TCB, looks pretty comprehensive.

I would also check MOT history - not only the most recent one.

I text my reg to 78888. Contained all the info I was after. Think is was £5.

No money had changed hands before doing the check and being a private sale, I could walk away no problem. Only looked at the car an hour before posting the thread.

I would also check MOT history - not only the most recent one.

Not a full check though is it, will only tell you if it's ever been recorded as a cat D or C.

Used mytextcheck.com in the past, never had any problems. Nearly bought a Golf that had been written off with the dealership not mentioning anything. Cat D isn't necessarily a problem but to have not been told put me straight off. Walked away pretty quickly from that one!

I have always used them, although annoyingly it now seems to be £19.99 for a single check or £29.97 for 3.

I would still however use them, as unlike the competitors I would be more confident that if anything did later turn out to be wrong, that they would honor their guarantee. £30 is still nothing if you are looking at spending more than a couple of grand on any car.

Autotrader do one slightly cheaper, including VIN and so on. Affiliated with Experian.
Not sure how reliable and comprehensive it is compared to HPI, though...
