Cheapest Router with QoS?

I'm currently using Smoothwall on a P200. It works great and I'm very happy with the tweakability.

I would like to change to a Router for a number of reasons:

1) Electricity usage
2) Space
3) Easy Wireless

The only thing i feel I really need is QoS - i.e. Smoothwall has the ability to 'reserve' downstream and upstream bandwidth for ACK packets (and UDP, or whatever I want), so I can be downloading at 'full' speed without causing web browsing or game play lag.

Is there such a router, or is this pretty common now? Thanks!

WRT54GL is probably the best choice. Quite cheap and with Tomato + mods it's got all the features you require.

Having used smoothwall before I reckon it's about the closest you'll get in terms of functionality.

OK, cool. Sounds good. Thanks!

One last check - I'm using the cheapo wired ADSL modem supplied to me by BT, connected to my Smoothwall box using RJ45. I assume this will be OK connected to that router? (i.e. it doesn't *need* to be connected to a computer?)

If it is a USB modem, you will not be able to connect it to the WRT54GL (as it needs RJ45 into WAN port), I use a Linksys AM200 (in half-briged mode) with it...
