So the missus picked up some clothes online from a random Chiness shop (why would she do this?!) and after waiting for months, 2 out of the 7 items turned up not as described (the other 5 have not made it yet and probably never will)
Asked the company about a returns procedure and got nothing back.
To cut a long story short, Paypal was used to pay so claim started with them. Seller then offered a partial refund of about 5% (not a joke) which was promptly refused and now Paypal has asked to send the items back for a full refund.
So here's the tldr
What's the cheapest way to send a small package that weighs less than a bag of sugar (not weighed it but it's definitely less than 1kg ) back to China? Has to be recorded so proof of shipping is needed. Anyone done anything similar? Experiences?

Thanks in advance

Apparently I have to cover the shopping costs back. In total the refund is worth £65
Address it needs to go back to in China:
Zhongxin Industrial City,, Chuangye Road, Nanshan District,, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province 518054 China

if you do a search looks like most places start at 18 to 20 pounds for a tracked parcel up to 1to 2 kg.

Yeah that's what I have found, was looking for a cheaper economy deal if I'm honest. Not bothered about how long it takes or even if it gets there. Just need proof enough of sending the damn thing so I can get my money back! Am I stuck paying £20 then? No cheaper way to do it?

To be honest id post one back and keep the other, claim to paypal u sent both get refunded. Done and saved urself some postage costs

The bulk of the cost is probably the bit about wanting it tracked, and the small matter of getting it to China. Taking a few hundred grams of cloth out the package isn't going to be a huge money saver.

Royal Mail International Signed is tracked (only within the UK) and is £17.20 for a 1Kg small parcel. I don't think you can do much better than that. Presumably you just need a tracking number to satisfy PayPal that you have shipped something, so that should do. Call it the price of experience.

Go onto alibaba. Get duplicate clothes made by a rival Chinese clothes company. Get delivered to original Chinese company. Much cheapness :)
