Hello all,

What's the cheapest way of watching AVI movies on a tv?
Other than burning them onto a dvd as an avi for a divx player - are there any dvd players that have USB slots to read off a USB stick?

thank you!

Is the telly anywhere near your PC?

What TV do you have? You could get a really long VGA/DVI-HDMI/S-Video cable to join the two, whichever your telly accepts. You'll also need an audio cable.

There are indeed DVD players with a USB slot and they're fairly cheap these days.

If you've got an Xbox, that'll do it too, either from USB or by linking to your PC with an ethernet cable.

Unfortunatly not mate - it's for the old dear! And it's an old TV, so thought a DVD player with scart out might work if anyone can recommend one?

Yep, that's the way to go then. I've not used one but there are loads available. AV Forums is probably a good place to start but I'm sure someone here will know.
