I'm looking to purchase a cheapish headset (< £50) but am unsure of which I should go for.

It's going to be used on the PC (for gaming/voice chat) and so I was wondering whether it'd be best to buy one using audio jack(s) or whether USB is better. I have 8-channel onboard sound. Another question is whether or not surround sound headsets are worth it?

If you know of any good headsets for my price range, please link :)

Thanks for any advice.

Not sure I'd be after a separate headset and mic, never cared much for some weird stick on my desk.

Decided on a Logitech ClearChat USB PRO.

£27 delivered from a competitor, and they seem to be catered for comms.

Get a pair of sennhesser headphones and a cheapy mic, much better sound quality, as headsets are pretty crap. A good pair of stereo headphones will sound far superiror than 8 channel 5.1.2.3.4.5.9999999999999 sound headsets, and will be much better for positional audio.

Check out the sennheiser HD555.

Agree with AD, just gone from the Zalman 5.1 to the Senhheiser HD215's (£50.00 from a planet of PC's). Difference is silly tbh. I use a Logitech USB mic.
