I'm looking for a new MP3 player as my old iRiver iMP 550 is not really good for gym or running.

Ideally i'd like a player that fits these criteria:
good sound quality,
long battery life (ideally +20hrs),
at least 2gb storage,
drop and drag,
and can play all kinds of audio media (mp3, ogg, flac, etc).
oh and robust.

Thought about going budget and getting a ScanDisk Sansa Clip (2GB) as it seems to fit the bill quite nicely. I've no need to watch video on an MP3 player.
Also considered the Creative Zen Stone.

Is it worth spending about twice as much and getting a Sony A816 or Samsung YP-T10 or something else.

What do you reckon?

a friend of mine bought a scandisk sansa express for a tenner and bunged an 8gb microsd card in it. bloody cheap for the storage you get. im going to see if i can borrow it for a night and maybe do a writeup on it:)

good stuff. I'll look out for your review.
Seems like a good way of doing things. getting a cheap player with an SD card slot.
