Frustratingly sat down to test out my 3080 that got delivered, switched on my PC to find a CPU Fan speed error...loaded in to the BIOS and saw the CPU temperature at 89 degrees...

System was absolutely fine on Thursday when I installed the 3080 in to it and switched on to check all was ok, but just gave up today.

All fans spin up absolutely fine, so can only assume the pump has gone on the H100i v2...to be fair, it is 4.5 years old now but annoying all the same.

I want to replace it, but also, as soon as I get my hands on a Zen3, it will become obsolete. I had planned to sell the whole system on, so want to replace it with something desirable but not that's going to cost the Earth.

I did think about just throwing an air cooler in, but I'm worried about RAM clearance (it has 4 sticks of Avexir Blitz in it.

It's to go on an 6700K and ideally would still be able to get 4.6GHz out of it.

Any thoughts appreciated!

Would an MSI Core Frozr S fit? Only reason I ask is the rest of the build is red and black so it would look smart. Also available somewhere that I have £30 credit...

From the reviews I think it slightly covers the first ram slot.

Might give it a risk, since it's not costing me a lot. Worst case I can just use 2 RAM sticks then when it comes to selling the machine on, I can perhaps sell the 2 sticks of RAM separately... (32GB installed)

Could also put the fan on the back

Ended up doing this as it didn't fit. Did some research that seems to suggest pull is as good as push anyway. Cooler is a bit hit or miss. Not used to seeing such spikey CPU temps having been on an AIO for so long. I will say that the PC is barely audible at idle now though! And the cooler looks great :) Certainly a good enough makeshift for me for a couple of weeks and hopefully good enough for whoever I manage to sell the whole thing on to!
