Evening all,

I need some help :) I need to find a cheapish restaurant ~£25-30 a head for two courses, somewhere In London that is easily accessible from the tube, I was thinking around covent garden area, but I don't really mind where :) doesn't. Was hoping for somewhere that is relatively smart.

So yeh any ideas? :D

I'll second Arbutus or it's sister Wild Honey, some of the best value set menu's in London. Clos Maggiore is worth a look in if its a date, but you do have to be seated early for the pre theatre. Ask for a table in the conservatory if it is a date, if not in the front of the restaurant.

Many of Londons best have pre-theatre, post theatre and lunch menus for £20-£25. If your going mid week its worth looking on Square Meal for a set menu or 20-50% off deal, though they can be hit or miss. The Polpo/Polpetto/Da Polpo/Spuntino group are worth a look in, easy to stay at around £25 if your sensible with the choices, not necessarily "smart" but fantastic food.

Bit out of the way, but Foxtrot Oscar is quite good, they have a 2 course menu for £22. Went there last week, my girlfriend screwed up the dates as we were meant to be meeting her aunt there, so we're going again this weekend. :P
