which would perform best for the money?

Secondhand 9800 Pro? (£50)

6600 ddr2? (£80)

6600 gt (100)

My mate needs a card to run tiger 06,motogp 3,doom 3 and maybe gt legends.

I know which are the faster cards , but will these games run on the cheaper/slower ones??

The chances are they will run but this will depend on the rest of the PC and what resolutions(and detail levels) your mate wants? The 6600gt isn't double the card that the 9800pro is and the 6600 isn't that much better than a 9800pro if at all. However maybe try looking for a secondhand 6600gt or 6800nu as they should both be well under £100 now especially when compared to the 9800pro prices(one just sold in MM for £30 although that is remarkably cheap ).

I'd try to find a 6800nu also, with a 9800 and a 6600gt there is doubt as to whether those games would run desirably but with the unlockability and overclockability of a 6800nu its a sure thing.

9800 pro best bangs for your buck in that group and if you dont like its speed, you should be able to get near enough £50 on a quick resale. You would lose a lot more on the other cards as they are new.

The 9800 or look for used 6800 or 6600gt under £75 as reccomended above.

I doubt you'd find a 6800nu for under £75 unless theres something wrong with it, aim for £80-90 realistically

You can pick up X800GTO's for less than £100 which will run all the above no problem.

That or a 6800nu or 6800 Vanilla.
