I currently have an aging rig, P4 2.4 running @ 2.8, seagate cuda 5 drives, 1gb crucial ram, GF4 4 Ti4400 (gainward golden sample)

Now, I am starting to play a few games again, nothing too serious, HL2 and the like. However, i have noticed my GPU is not really working well and i have to run low settings. I wanted to know if it was possible to get a new GPU for under 50quid that would increase the performance of my rig.

Im very out of touch with GPUs as a whole, but would like to be able to keep my zalman cooler thats on my current GF4. Its the big golden double sided one. Im presuming i need to stick to Nvidia to do this, but am i being foolish staying Nvidia just to keep my zalman baby :p Would i be able to get a better card if i went to ATI?

Cheers for any advice peeps :)

He states for under £50

I would say look around for a 9800 or something. Cherck on the zalman site to see what cards are compatible with the cooler. Think the 9800 is.
