Cheaters in ghost mode on mario kart wii? or isnt there?

for a few stages im ranked 3rd on the continent, and for the ones i am i cant see how the hell the other 2 are in front because its a gap of 10-20 seconds.

N64 mario's raceway is a good example, i played that to almost perfection without using slide boosts because i find cutting the sides much more effective.. use mushrooms in the right places etc.

is there something im missing or is it really possible to cheat? i heard there were cheaters in MKDS later on (apart from snaking??) but i havent played that online for months upon months.

Not that I know of or have heard about, some people are just insanely good

Getting a perfect corner with a drift and a turbo coming out of it every corner would mean a 10-20s gap would be quite easy to get

But then surely everyone could get a stupidly high time and not just one or two that the OP is saying

a big glitch found already to cheat and the damn thing only just came out, typical.. nintendo will probably release an update to fix this?

People can still cheat and make their time look genuine, it wont be until someone races the ghost that they find out they are cheating.

they need to patch it

Why would anyone try to get the best time trial time?

And you're not third in the continent. They only show the best time and the one that's slightly above you when you're in the upper quartile for times.
