Cheating in Crysis already

Well, Crysis has only been out a few weeks and it looks like its been hacked already as I've seen video footage on the Incrysis forum of someone that was blatantly cheating.

I had a go at the power struggle mode the other night and there was one guy that was able to single handedly hold off repeated attacks on the prototype facility from different players and also had a very large supply of nades and trip mines at his disposal. Even at the start of the round where everyone is supposed to have limited funds he started with a full compliment of guns, ammo and explosives.

There was also a few times where someone ran up to me at maximum speed and punched my lights out as if in strength mode, giving me the impression that there was no switch from one mode to the other.

Now with my experiences above, these guys may simply be very good at the game, but I suspect its more than just "being good" that allows them to dominate the game as they do. This is I think for me is the main problem with PC games when comparing to consoles as I'm sure its a lot harder to cheat in console games than their PC equivalents.

I just can't see the point in cheating - ultimately it disrupts the balance of the game and makes it crap for everybody else - who would take part in a 100m sprint if some of the runners were in Kawasaki's?

On a separate note - having given the power struggle mode a good go I can't help thinking that Far Crys Assault mode was more fun.

I've done the second example you've said many a time - just takes some practice!

You'll always get cheaters in games though, just be satisfied that your penis is bigger.

Just after I wrote that I thought that maybe it was legit.

So can it be done by staying in speed mode or is it a case of switching to strength mode very quickly before landing the punch?

Yeah, your best bet is to hide behind a bush and scout the area before doing it. Most of the time it's just lucky that they happen to be close enough though.

It's actually better to hide some place in stealth mode and just wait for people to come by you and then you get behind them, switch to strength, punch and then go back to stealth again.

this is one thing you have to be carefull of before throwing cheat accusations around

ive pulled off some amazing shots / manoevres in games before and astounded even myself. Most recent example was the rampage i had in CoD 4 Team Deathmatch. Went on a 15 person killing spree in the space of about 3 minutes. Emptied a full clip into some1, he happened to walk in front it. Fought some more etc.. ran out of ammo and ended up picking up an M60 heavy machine gun off the floor and landing myself in the blind spot of about 5/6 people lined up and just gunned them all down

to the average person standing by, they'd think "what ??" but it was just luck. you'll usually find cheats cant help themselves but do the same thing over and over again :)

and for what its worth, the cheat videos are all over the place. You're right, it has been hacked.

Yeah noticed this last night for the first time. Started a new map and I capped a bunker, then a tank rolled around the corner
Checked the map and scores and they had only capped the factory. Also the guy with the tank had no kills.

well i noticed a guy on the other team running around in the base harrasing the base defences apprently immune to the cannons already.. havent seen other cheats though

I never accuse anyone of cheating I either play on or find another server if its really annoying or go into spectate mode and watch the suspect at work in case he is just a good player which I may be able to learn something from.

I have been accused of being a cheat before when I've been doing really well and consider it a compliment although some people sometimes take things too far and come on the same team to harrass you.

I'll be practising the speed punch on a few trees next to see if I can do it :D

Is it just me that finds the jeep journeys you have to repeatedly take in Crysis Multiplayer to get anywhere, painfully long?

Yes in some maps it can take ages to get to where you're going, especially if you manage to knacker your transport on the way.

Are you in the F&B clan?
