I know for hard drives some manufacturers' websites allow you to enter details in and they'll tell you information about the product you have.

Can this be done anywhere on AMD's website about an AMD CPU I have?

Cheers :)

It's something else I've kind of pondered for a while. I bought a CPU a while back from that auction site as it was dirty cheap and because I couldn't get it to cool below 40 celcius I started to be suspicious and think it mayhave been a lower CPU which had been overclocked.

It came without much in the way of a seal or original packaging...should stick to buying stuff here :(

AMD AM2 6000+ Oem, that was pretty much what it was advertised as..

I have the numbers here - but don't know what to do with them...

There are no pencil marks anywhere..

And when my computer did post (see my thread in GH :(), it never ever displayed the CPU name - only it's clock speed and "Unidentified CPU"
