So my Dad has decided he wants to watercool his system and has asked me to check everything out, he wants to cool his 4770K and his 7990 in one loop.

The 7990 he has is this one:

From what I can tell this is a reference card, however am happy to be corrected.

Could you lovely people just go over my Dads shopping list and recommend any changes anything that has been missed and also recommend a coolant please.

Also this is going into a BitFenix Shinobi XL and he wants to keep to his Red/Black colour scheme as well if possible.

Looks pretty good so far, I'd probably look to get a couple more rotaries just in case, always helps.

Is he bothered about adding in a tap for quick drainage? I've got that pump/res and it's a bit of a pain without one. What about temp sensors?

The XSPC stuff comes with blue LEDs as standard, you can of course get different colours (red in your case) aftermarket.

Do you have some sort of fan control?

Those 5 fans at full tilt will make a fair bit of noise somewhat negating the acoustic benefits of going H2O!

Didn't think about that, is there anything you can recommend?

Again can you recommend one please

I assume they can also be run without the LEDs as well though? If not I'm sure he can find some 3mm red ones

For the coolant is it better to use pre-mixed? If so which do you recommend? Also is there anything missing? A tap and a temp sensor were mention earlier, any recommendations there?

Yeah, OCuK do have one:

Yeah, this one. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-203-XS&groupid=962&catid=2138

This can also be mounted into into a front bay using the adapter, available separately.

I've added a four way XSPC fitting with the tap coming off the bottom and the sensor off the top, flow going across, near the end of my loop.

The bayres does also have an extra port on it for this purpose, which comes pre-installed with a removable plug. However, as it sits in the bays of course this can be awkward to access.

I assume they can also be run without the LEDs as well though? If not I'm sure he can find some 3mm red ones

XPSC make them in pairs of two, you can get them direct. Not sure if OcUK sells them. You can run without them of course, they just clip in and are powered by molex.

Yeah got a fan controller :D

Good stuff!
