Yes it is pretty much a full upgrade and my god, my pc deserves it. atm ive got a AMD athlon 2500+, Gefore fx5700 and some infineon RAM. So ive saved my pennys and this is what im thinking, im not really up on hardware reviews so if you see anything that could be better please let me know.

I am thinking of overclocking so i want hardware that is pretty good to do it with.

the wd aak are brilliant drives. the board overclocks like a dream (check sig)
the ram is better than the corsair or atelast as good and a lot cheaper

edit: my spelling is shocking

for a full system you will need a case and optical drives also for overclocking you will need a good cpu cooler to get above 3ghz

if money is tight you could always get the gts you specced

Spec suggested above is spot on. I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 but the aaks' from WD are just as good. Need to add a cpu cooler to that list if you plan to overclock.

yeah i think ill get another cooler when ive got some more money, not gonna overclock it just yet but i will want too soon.

I'd take the Barracuda and Corsair HX520 over what you've put but apart from that it's a good spec. :)

ive got a corsair psu myself tbh but the tagen psu is better than the 520 corsair looking at a few reviews and its at a good price...

would you recommend any other RAM because the Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit are out of stock atm

the ram you had was fine its just the crucial was so cheap and a shame to miss

both the ram you and i chose are good it was a tenner cheaper

they will both overclock well

and are a lot better than the gskill and geil imo

Get the ballistix 5300 then, you should be able to clock it past 800mhz easily with tighter timing than any RAM in the ~£100 price range. They are the only RAM that uses the Micron D9 chips at that price range, which is what the more expensive RAM like the Cellshock, HZ and Dominators uses. The reason why its cheaper than other is that I think (unless I am mistaken) is Crucial is the retail brand for Micron making them essentially the same company.

why would you recomend him a GTX when it's about £100 more expensive than the gts? (i'm looking to upgrade atm and so was looking at the 640 gts due to the price vs perfomance)
