Hi all, I'm new to the OC forums but I've been lurking a while;)

I'm wanting to put together a decent low/mid general use machine for my wife. It has to be quick startup (hence ssd drive) and be fairly quick and upgradable if needed. It'll be mainly used for word processing, photos and music etc.

I haven't built a machine for a few years now (I'm a CG artist so my machines tend to be processor and memory hungry!) so I'm still getting up to speed with stuff.

I've specked up this little lot, be much appreciated if you could cast you eyes across it just to check mainly compatibility etc..

Thanks for the replies!

Jamesfreddie, the "primo 510i" comes with a 500w psu. Machine is for general use.

Stulid, I won't be overclocking this machine (he says while staring upwards and thinking "hmmm.."!) don't need a dedicated graphics card cos I won't be gaming.

So is an i5 much quicker than an i3? Is it worth the extra for the i5 for a general purpose machine?

I'm also upgrading my work machine at the mo and will soon be attempting to OC my i7 920...

I wouldn't trust the PSU that comes with that barebones.

For a general usage machine I think you could go with a i3 or even pentium dual core.

The PSU included in that Primo is cheap and shouldnt be trusted.

What connections does his monitor have?

The i5 2500K is much faster than a i3 2100/2120 - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/288?vs=289 - and being a "K" COU it can be overclocked to 4Ghz using the stock cooler and around 4.5Ghz with that Z68 board.

Also a Z68 board has SATAIII+USB3.0 ports (useful for a SATAIII SSD)

Cheers guys, I'll look into upgrading the psu! And also possibly getting an i3.

Look at my post above!

If you get a H61 board as Jamesfreddie suggest then you are limiting that SSD to around 250MB/sec.

A Z68/H67 board is much better!

Awesome, thanks guys, that's really helpful stuff! That spec looks good to me.

One thing, would that case come with all the case fans etc?
