Hi guys

Put together new build. E6600, Gigaybyte GA P35C DS3R and OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series and Noctua heatsink.

Despite running into troubles with Overclocking instructions (most guides listed modes in the BIOS that arent present on my board!) and software issues with temp software as I am running Vista 64 - I actually did some overclocking.

Got the E6600 up to 3.4 no probs. Suffered a few blue screens when I put the case cover on. Got the CPU working @ 350 x 9 = 3150 and is stable.

The temps are showing as:

Tjunction 85c
Core 0 idle 21
Core 1 idle 21

Core 0 load 36
Core 1 load 36

Memory timings are 6,6,6,16 at FSB:DRAM 1.1.

I also had a go at clocking my graphics card which is a leadtek geforce 8800 GTS 640mb onto

700 mhz
1100 mhz

Which runs fine but gets a little hot. It never jumps more than 65c and idles in the 40's.

What do you think? These quite standard? or have I got something to worry about?

if 3.4GHz is fine with side panel off, and blue screened when side was on then something is getting too hot, whats your airflow like?

Thats what I am putting it down too but cant be sure - tis the only thing that has changed. Case I have is a Silverstone Temjin6 with the Wind Tunnel (Noctua only just fits in!) and a dedicated case fan blowing the warm air out of the case coming from the GPU.

I have the Silverstone 4 drive bay with its own fan. So air is ok I reckon.

I havent messed around with the Voltage at all by the way which is at stock of 1.3v.

Try gently putting your finger on your Northbridge heatsink if it doesn't have a fan on it to get a rough idea of how hot it is, some of them get very toasty, and could be the reason for the instability with the side of the case on.
