Guys i have just purchased the above to replace my old Due 2 E6600 and Fatality Board .....


What can i expect from the above in terms of performance over my old system ?

Will this new spec i picked let me play all the lastest games ect coming over the next 2-3 years ?

I also spend a lot of time on photoshop aswell........

I wanted to spend as little as possible but still get good performance..... would you say i picked the right parts ?
 
Your only using a Dual Channel Ram Kit on a Tri Channel motherboard. I'm not too sure about this but you may want to look into it.

Ya i phoned them , they have advised me it would work but its better to go for Tri chn..... Ill get the memory returned as they already sent it ! ^^

So should i go for the Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency Tri-Channel (PVT36G1600LLK) [PVT36G1600LLK] ?

Very nice upgrade,I think you'll see a significant performance boost over your previous setup,looking to upgrade my Q6600 setup with similar components.

Just a bit miffed that the 920 seems to have risen in price recently.You definitely need tri-channel to get the most from the I7/x58,shame you didn't post before buying :( Ah well,oc'kers will sort it quickly though. Good luck with the build.
