Anything you would change?
Will this all fit inside my trusty Coolermaster Praetorian?
Could I go to the Asus 5850 graphics and not suffer?
Is there anything that looks incompatible with something else?
Do I really need Windows 7 Pro 64-bit or would Home 64-bit do just as well?

In my mind the memory is a little high on the price, something like these would be good.
PSU you can drop to 60ow ~.
Home Premium would be fine unless you need the professional options.

what are you planning on using the system for ?

also, do u plan to do much in the way of overclocking ?

you have spec several expensive parts that really arn't worth the money if you dont plan to overclock the hell out of it.

also, you havn't speced a decent cooler, and the retail cooler is unlikly to achive an oc anywhere close to what the rest of the system could potentially do.

a Few Suggestions:

Drop the ram to 1600mhz, could half the price, and still give you plenty of room for an OC.

Add in an SSD, with specs like that, u really will be doing it a disservice by not adding an SSD.

get the 920 instead of the 930, same cpu, the 930 just has 1 extra multiplier and can save you a lot more money, 920 will overclock does as well as the 930

you could also half the price of the motherboard, without seeing much of a change to the overall system.
The current gigabyte X58 are very good, a lot cheaper, and clock very well.

finally, do you really need 1000w PSU ?
are you planning to crossfire the gpu at some point.

even running 2 5870's OC, with an OC i7, u would get close to 1000w.

the 750 or 850 might be a better choise, cheaper, still plenty of room to run crossfire, or more power hungry future gpu's

if you dont plan on crossfire, then the 650 would be more than enough

Hi thanks for the feedback,

I hadn't selected an SSD due to concerns about lifespan/fragmentation/trim etc, should I forget that nonsense and get me one?

I wasn't sure what cooler would fit, so figured I would run the system in and then look at other cooler options?

920 is only £10 cheaper, seemed worth the extra £10 for a bit of extra beef.

I went for the 1000w PSU because my current rig can't pump enough power for all my hard drives (3) and optical drives (4) so didn't want to have to disconnect like now.

I pretty much use it as a encoding rig, the odd game, and used to like a bit of oc'ing.

No plans at present to use duel graphics unless the single card can't power my dual monitor setup, I like games like command and conquer.
