Based on a previous thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18411745&highlight=build+touch
I've been looking for suitable upgrades for my computer and have added to the list of suggestions.

Here's what I have so far:
CPU

Mobo

Ram

SSD

Comments?
The mobo is sli ready - this is not a feature I'll ever use, is there a gigabyte board in stock with OcUK that is equivalent but without sli? The rest of the slots etc is all good, plus the Z77 thing will work with the cpu (I've done some reading on here about that cpu and some boards needing a bios flash to work - I do not want to waste my time and patience doing that lol).

The Ram is not the cheapest out there, but I've used corsair ram for quite some time with no issues.

I'll be recycling my existing SATA hdd, and replacing it with a newer drive in time. Same goes for the dvd re-writer I have and my old gfx card (7950gt 512mb).

Only thing lacking for now is a new PSU. What is a good buy these days? How much juice should it have? I'm looking at sub £100 (~60-80 quid?), but I want something reliable with room for expansion, for hdd/new gfx card etc.

In the future, I will be upgrading my monitors and gfx card together, but I want to ge t the base build for the pc out of the way first.

Have I missed anything critical, or have I made any schoolboy errors in compatibility?

I'm trying to keep the budget below £500 for the parts I have listed plus a PSU.

Any comments or observations are most welcome.

Cooler if thinking of overclocking. Psu out atm, you want an xfx or corsair psu ;)

I see where you're both going with the low profile ram ;)

So, something around the 650W mark is what I should be looking for with a PSU?

narrowing it down...

Ok, looking at ram again - what's the difference between these three?

ok, first two it's about the heat spreader full/low profile.
I've had XMS2 DDR2 ram in my old pc, is there any difference with the DDR3 in the link compared to the vengeance DDR3 RAM?
Why would you choose one over another of the above?
It's unlikely I'll be running a mahoosive cooler (so long as retail cpu comes with stock cooling).

What's the lifespan on these PSU's suggested? I like the warranty offered (5 years, limited). They seem to be well thought of on here.

EDIT:

Anyone know if these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-153-SA&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=
come with a case adapter?
