Hello all, This is my first post on this forum, I'm planing on building a system (with a lot of help) and I need a some help with choosing the most suitable components for my needs, I'll be using this system mainly for my digital photography, so i'll be editing images with Adobe Photoshop, and storing quite a large amount of files, I won't be using this system to play any games on, I just need a very quick system that can run multiple programs with ease..oh and i'm willing to spend around £500-£600..

These components have been recommended to me, just looking for some further imput/recommendations..

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.66GHz - £123.36
Antec NSK 4480B Mini Tower Case (Black) - 380W Earth Watts PSU - £54.04
OcUK Value IP35-S Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 MB - £55.21
Samsung SpinPoint T 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM - £66.96
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB) - £68.14
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic 64-Bit Edition - £56.39

Asus GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI - £93.99

Total
£424 (£518 with video card)

I've been told to ask by the person who recommended these components if the on board video will be good enough for my needs as i'll be editing images.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Paul.

This graphics card embarrases the 8600GTS for a tenner more. If you can afford another £15 go for the 512mb version, but with the 3850 out nobody has an excuse for buying an 8600GTS.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw you were editing video. Im not sure about your on board video, but if somebody tells you that it is not good enough go with a 3850.

the ati cards have a better Image Quality then the nvidia, at the mid/lower end of the market, so go for the ATI cards.

PS utiliazes Quad cores, and eats ram, so i ahev given u a very plentiful option.
