I am looking at my first build for a gaming pc. I have a buget of around 1.1k and propose to upgrade the graphics card when then position of the new cards becomes clearer (and cheaper!).

What do you think of this lot?

That all looks pretty good to me, you might not need the floppy drive and you might find that Arctic MX-2 paste is a slightly better option than the OCZ (mainly I don't know much about it to recommend it) but other than that it should build into a nice PC.

I think you should make sure you get the non tn film ocuk screen I think you're allowed to return if you get a tn film one am not so sure though.

If your main aim is general use and gaming, a dual core such as the E8400 would be a better option. It has higher clockspeeds, and very few games are optimised for 4 cores, it they'll run faster with an E8400.
