this will be used soley for games anything from fm2009 to cod and team fortress

uncertain on the ram if i got it right or not will add a ati 4870 or 4880 to this proberly a saphire of some sort

Nice spec, but it might be worth holding on as I5 is being launched I think next week along with new ATI gpu's,this might have a impact on prices ect.

This is the best advice one can give, if i5 is still out of price range, it will make other prices fall no doubt, no harm in waiting a few days. Masewell go AMD aswell so your not entering a 'dead socket'.
 
i was thinking this myself definetly no harm in waiting going on holiday next week

not to fussed about the dead socket normaly find my comps last me 2-3 years and tend not to upgrade apart from gpu's would be sticking with shuttle but the i7 shuttle is shockingly priced
