Hey just about to order this, anything i could improve on?



AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition 3.40GHz (Socket AM3)

XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 XXX Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel

Asus M4A78L-M LE AMD 760G (Socket AM3/AM2+) DDR2 microATX Motherboard

Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache

OCZ StealthXStream 500w Silent Power Supply



Thinking about upgrading to DDR3, how much will this add on and can someone spec me what I'd need please.

Id get the Phenom II X4 955 if I were you, cheaper and not worse by any means.
If you upgrade to DDR3, you'll need a new mobo and ofc new ram.
A decent Asus DDR3 compatible mobo will set you back £70-85 depending on version, and the ram will cost about the same as the DDR2 stuff you've specced.

Ok cheers for the spec, would you say 6GB is considerably better or will 4GB be sufficient? Just playing games etc.
 
Yh, 4gb will be perfectly adequate for any game, and yeah go for the RAM Ast3r linked - forgot about the lower timings ^^

@ Ast3r, Im pretty sure you can have CF in the board I had above? I might be wrong though :confused:
 
The one you indicated also has xfire support but lacks the VRM cooling and that can be a major set back if he decides to overclock his PhII 955.
