I posted recently asking for a spec for a new pre-built. I've since decided to do the job myself (since you get a better choice of kit). I have compiled this spec partly from what was suggested then and partly from other posts on the forum.

Do I have any obvious bad moves here (the cooler is because the 100 and 105 are out of stock, btw)? And will I need anything else? (Extra cables and thermal paste in particular?)

Thank you very much.

I can get the H100i cooler separately - tempted to do so, but will it make any real difference other than a saving of £15 or so?

Two other questions I meant to ask: a lot of suggested builds use a midi tower case. Am I better off sticking with the full tower, or should I go smaller? Also, I'll need another set of speakers - can anyone recommend some decent quality ones for under £100?

Thanks again. My old rig (which I will keep going) has a 5.1 set of Creative Speakers, which are good, but the huge amounts of cable are annoying. If I get a 2.1 set, would I be better to use the 5.1 with the new rig, or to go with the newer 2.1? Or is it unlikely to make any discernible difference in a normal size room?

Couldn't honestly tell you.

So many factors like,

Are/were the 5.1 speakers super budget?

Are the 5.1 speakers just old and shot to pieces etc.
