Barring the situation with the 5850's does that seem ok to go ahead and order? (everything works fine with everything else?). Hoping to hit 4Ghz or thereabouts, it's for gaming and rendering etc.

No point in buying a raptor anymore due to ssd drive being much better also you will need a primary drive you will be surprised how fast you can fill up 150gb.
Try and get a asus 5850 due to the voltage tweek feature to help overclock it.

I've got a DVD drive from my current rig, so that should be fine.
Tbh that's the point of debate for me really, the velociraptor. It's only going to be used as a primary drive (I've been using a 150gb primary drive for a while now, and tbh I prefer a smaller main drive for os/programs and everything else goes on back-up drives, which I already have). I just want the fastest possible drive I can get for under say 130 quid. Access times are important to me, I use a lot of midi controlled bits for music production, and also just generally really, I'd like it to be as quick as possible. Is SSD even a realistic option for around 130 quid?. I quite fancy giving it a whirl tbh, if one of the SSD drives within my budget (linked below) will outpace a velociraptor.
Is there a large difference between the velociraptor and the Samsung f3?, in terms of speed?.
