As you can see I've failed miserably going way over budget

I just wanted to confirm a few things.

Crucial or Corsair ram?
The ram and the cpu are 1066MHz, but is the motherboard able to run at this speed?
I've always had Abit motherboards in the past [NF7-S], how good is the Gigabyte? Is there an equivelent Abit available?
Can somebody advise me on which case fans and CPU h/sink and fan would be best to use [I want it to be as quiet as possible].
I will probably load the system with Vista Business - Do I need a floppy drive? I know in the past with XP I've needed a floppy drive to install hard disk controller drivers at Windows setup.

I think thats all, I appreciate any help! Cheers

here you go mate awsome gaming rig, proccesor will clock well and you get the awsome 8800 gtx

edit; the Akasa case i bought here last week came with two case fans but the one i bought ages ago did'nt come with any so i dunno if you'll need to get 2 120mm case fans or not? i swapped the supplied case fans for 2 scythe 1600rpm 120mm fans mounted on akasa rubber mount things and connected to an akasa fan controller.

Thanks for this. I don't mind going a bit over budget.
Why are people suggesting to go with the slower speed crucial ram?

What will you be using it for and if for gaming what res will you be using?

And also do you intend to overclock?

It will be used for everything inc. games. I will probably look at 24" screens, so I wanted the GTX to cope with the higher res. I do want to overclock up to a point where I don't need to speed too much £££ on cooling or noisy fans.

because it overclocks well

but i got some last and it wont go over 930 @ 5-5-5-15

so id get the cheaper geil ram as my set did 898 4-4-4-12
