Check my spec please

i know this is the SFF forums and all, and i love shuttles i used to have one.

But i built a PC around a 8800GTS and a 6300 on a DS3 with 2gb of ram and a 22" belina for not a dissimlar ammount of money.

would overclock better than the shuttle too................ put it in a lanboy or something and its similar footprint, just taller.

With the exception of the AC Freezer, which you don't need, the spec looks fine. You are paying a gigantic premium for the Shuttle bit, and there is no guarantee at all that the cooling system will handle any overclock, but the components are all good ones.

The spec does look a little imbalanced though.

For the difference in money, I would buy bigger hard disk drives. There is space in the case for 3, so either go for the Raptor and one 500Gb drive or 2 250Gb drives.

I'm not keen on double width graphics cards in shuttles. Sapphire do a single-width version of the 1950 Pro - and if you're spending that sort of money why not get 2 and go crossfire? Or just buy 1 X1950-XT or XT-X.

The only thing I would say - and I'm the worst person I know for wasting money - you are paying way over the odds for that being the first of the Core2Duo shuttles.

yeah the system looks fine

but drop the AC Freezer & the Nec DVD±RW drive
and go for a light scribe based 1

also if you want a quiet sff then its a bad idea to use a WD Raptor hdd
there noisy as

you probably couldn't access the mm forums with your post count last week, but you could have saved a bundle on a 2nd hand 37p/e6600 and some good memory

yes there is a premium to pay on shuttles, and you simply wont get the return on it when you come to sell/upgrade like a tower/desktop system [trying to sell an SN26p for past month and failing]

and as already stated the integrated cpu cooling is already included and pretty efficient
