holy moly, i just checked all the threads hes started and theyre either a spec for a gaming laptop or a gaming pc
i dont think he decided yet on what he wants.
and thats kind of unfair, using this forum when your not even buying from OCUK

I don't think it's unfair.

We aren't OcUK technical support (Arguably). It's just a forum. I understand when people get a little annoyed at the ones who seem to ask for help when really they either could have found out the answer from google in a few seconds or they aren't even going to use the advice and will change their mind on budget, usage and whatever but as long as they aren't mentioning the competitors I'm not too bothered where they are buying from but if I suggest anything, it will be from OcUK.

I got a little bored of the GH section myself because Stulid seemed to consistently outdo the one thing which I think I could do fairly well and that was make a decent spec with the amount of money given. I always have a quick glance in here but most problems are sorted within minutes. I think I am about 100% off topic now though and have no idea why I wrote that here :p

haha welcome back, how was holidays :)
yeah Stu is the king of GH, but he hasnt been around lately so other forumers have started surfacing and helping each other

lol. I persoanlly don't care about people posting that they'll be buying elsewhere etc shows common sense to shop around but 4 threads in 24 hours is a bit annoying however!

...agree about stulid...very good spec'er

I think this tread has digressed?!

Sorry its just I am new to building desktops. It will be my first. Thanks for spec me a desktop. Just wanted to try and spec my own desktop to see if I have picked up our systems fit together lol

Holiday was good and I have a tan :D

Anyway, last time Stulid was inactive for a few days he emerged with his System Tweaks thread. Was about the time that I actually made an account and started posting :L I would probably still be lurking if I wasn't going to buy a new computer and needed a bit of help myself.

Laughed when I saw Anuraj's thread was still going. He is one of the ones that annoy me for no apparent reason :p Seems to be wrapping up now anyway. Funny how this thread has still not giving the OP an answer.

It all looks like pretty standard stuff, can't comment on the monitor but CPU and mobo are fine. I don't know if the RAM is low profile. If not might be better going with Corsair value or XMS3 to avoid any problems if you get a better heatsink in future.

Seems like a good price for the GPU but if the 5870 is cheaper on whatever site you are looking at it actually performs a little better despite being older. In fact looking at it, it all seems to have pretty good prices, make sure these are including VAT and that is at least a reputable site, also make sure they aren't going to charge a hell of a lot for shipping. Unless components have taking a large cut in price since I have been gone, seems a bit too good to be true.

Might be better just paying a little extra for a better case that may also come with fans. I haven't seen the other thread though so shadow_boxer may have suggested something a lot better.
