Speccing this up for a friend, a little out of the loop lately in terms of hardware. Can anyone have a look over this quickly and suggest any changes? The budget is already over what they'd like to spend, I was told £700 with £800 being absolute max but it would be great to go a bit lower.

It's primarily aimed at photography editing and gaming, hence the 16gb of RAM for photoshop work. I'll probably overclock the CPU a small bit, I'd have liked to put in an aftermarket cooler for this but the budget is already quite high.

Any tips on how to shave down the price?

Cheaper ram although it is only 1600MHz. The speed difference probably won't be noticeable in real world usage.It is low profile as well, so it won't affect the cooler if you fit an aftermarket one.

If you drop the ssd to a 120gb you could get a cooler or get a 760

Thanks guys, unfortunately he wants an nVidia for CUDA programming.

I'll change the RAM and PSU as you said lee and ask him about the size of the SSD he wants. Will that cooler allow for overclocking to around 4Ghz on the 4670k?
