check my spec and advise please!

After lingering around the forums for the last month or so I have decided on the below specs on recommendations but I'm not sure about a few items;

Definite:
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2
Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
Corsair HX Series 520W Modular PSU
Belinea 2225S1W 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Not Sure:
Lian Li PC-7 Plus or Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK?? Quietness and ease of use needed. Any other cases of similiar price??
X1950 PRO gfx card but not sure which one......
HIS or PowerColor or Sapphire range? what's the difference?? which is worth its price??
256MB or 512MB? does it really make a difference??

I currently have a 300GB HDD and DVD-RW from my current system which I'll be adding to the above. I'll probably be getting another 250GB-300GB HDD in the near future.

I will mainly use the system for watching movies & general PC use. I'm not a big gamer at present, just FM2007 and PES6 but once I have the system up and running will be looking at extending my gaming horizons.

I don't overclock at present but my decide to tinker about with it once I've got my head round it.......I always thought overclocking was frowned upon!

I don't intend to upgrade any parts in the future unless I really have to so I want the system to last a good few yrs.

Oh, and I want the system to be as quiet as possible. Any comments will be much appreciated!

Looks like a nice setup. How long will it be before the next upgrade? I have a powercolor X1950 Pro, they are excellent cards. If you aren't a heavy gamer perhaps the 256MB would be ideal.

I dont really intend on upgrading anything once this system is up and running so I want to to last as long as possible.

I am also just about settling on PowerColor. How much difference in performace in there between 256MB & 512MB?

I don't intend on upgrading till sometime 2008. I bought a 512MB, not much difference in price and 256MB is just puney. Games are more demanding that are released this year especially with DX10 games coming. Our DX9 cards will be able to handle DX10 games but not very nicely with 256MB. If I was you I would go for 512MB for future proof!

No idea on cases lol, I have a ten quid full atx case thats hidden behind my desk. Has good airflow but looks ugly (beige). What are you wanting? something that looks nice?

Just read sorry, you want ease of use and quietness. The akasa to me looks and seems the better case. Quietness is going to depend on your components really, one things for sure that powercolor will be so quiet you won't be able to hear it. I'm currently in the process of removing the stock cooler from my e6600 because of the noise and temps.

I was advised not to go for the Arctic cooler you have listed, and to get the Tuniq tower or Thermalright heatsinks. If you went for just a heatsink and had good airflow with case fans that would be ideal - quiet and cool. When you decide to overclock you could then strap a 120mm fan onto it to cool down the higher temps!
