Hi,

I've just powered up my PC and these are the temps I'm getting from 8 smallFFT workers in Prime95.

I've got a Megahalems with Akasa Apache push-pull, and I'm using MX-3 TIM. Are these OK temps for stock?

Edit: I just stopped the tests and within 2 seconds all cores were at mid-30s. Sound good? It was idling at 29C before I started.

Not to bad, I get around 70c ~ with my TRUE with the cpu running at 4ghz.

What's your airflow like.

This is mine at stock

At load at 4ghz

TRUE black, 2x 400-1200 rpm pwm fans. I can get them about 6c lower by swapping to 2 x 2000 rpm silent eagles, to noisy though and ive lost my fan controller.

I've got a Fractal Define R2, with fans everywhere they can go except the base. The sides are off at the moment. I was wondering whether my cooler is seated properly, I screwed it down until I got scared something was going to break, and used about two peas-worth of TIM.

At the moment I'm only 10C off your 4GHz temps, and I'm at 2.8GHz. Should I be worried?

To much TIM can be a bad thing, all you need is a rice grain sized drop on the centre of the cpu's ihs. The pressure of the heatsink will spread it out.

does sound like a lot of paste there "2 x pea size worth" , as setter says you realy only need about the size of a grain of rice applied to cpu then fit cooler ( or some ppl smooth over with cling film on finger but everyone is different)

Tbh looking at that pic i would'nt say thats 2 xpeas worth tbh unless they are realy tiny peas lol , but may be worth reseating with a little less might help temps a bit

Put your sides back on otherwise there is no airflow.

I'll try that next, just got to sort a few cables out. I don't really want to take the cooler off (obviously :p), so I'll try anything! :D

Little update, I've put the sides back on and added a slow 140mm fan in the side for the graphics cards. I've also upped the bclk to 160MHz so I'm running at 3.37GHz with Turbo.

Here's what I've got (I haven't reseated):
