Looking for a (long-awaited) upgrade to my amd64. Use it mainly for internet and a couple of games (only Lotro/CS Source really) but would like to have a crack on some of the newer FPS games now and again, and run Lotro on a better gfx setting!. So I trawled the OC site this morning and came up with this;

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM £125.99
Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775) £27.99
Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £69.99
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Supplied with Airflow Fan (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF) £99.99
XFX GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (PV-T80F-SHF9) £187.99
Samsung SpinPoint S 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD250HJ) £35.99
Samsung SpinPoint S 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD161HJ) £25.99
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-620HXUK) £74.99
Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case £59.99
Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7200S 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM £15.99

I'm wondering if I have gone a bit overboard with that memory and gfx card?. No problem from a budget point of view, just don't want to spaff money for the sake of it. I am thinking of running vista on this as well. Any advice would be great thanks :)

depends what size monitor for the gfx card.

if its gaming on a screen above 22" GTX will be you're best bet, if the screen is under 22" go for a gts.
