Its just a noise elimination and case change for now.

Heres my plan so far..

YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £69.98
1 x Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black £56.99
1 x BitFenix Alchemy 3pin x3 Fan adaptor extension 60cm - Black £5.99
1 x OcUK Value Blue LED 120mm Fan £3.98
Total : £149.24 (includes shipping : £10.25).

My board only has 2x 3 pin outputs on so will the bitfenix 3 pin splitter thing split them and they all run at full speed? If not what will?

I got one of the value 120mm fans already and there going on the roof of the case. For the rear i have a Gelid Silent 12 and front will use whatever comes with case.

Can anyone change any of this to anything better? or make a recommendation

I've used that coolermaster PSU. It is quiet and a good lil PSU but the cables arent braided and look a bit of a mess compared to the bequiet L8 modular PSUs or the XFX ones. Not a deal breaker but it did bug me.

The Zalman Z9 has 4 fans and a fan controller to adjust two of the fans. THe exhaust fan has a molex connector, you can run this behind the mobo and connect it to the PSU power cables.

Thats the advanced so has an extra fan, but they are the same fans.

Well if it turns out i end up with extra fans i want to use in future ill just get a controller sorted out.

Does the XFX 6870 Fit in this case? Or the ZOTAC 560Ti 448 Edition card?

These are my choices for a future upgrade is all

I don't work for Zalman so i'm not going to keep pushing the case after this post, it is personal preference after all. That video gives you a good look at the case with a 6870 installed. You can clearly see you get more fans (4) for less cash and you can see the digital temp display on the front too (fan controller knob is below that readout) as well as the cable management.

The only reason i've continued on about the case is that I've been helping another forum member who opted for your coolermaster case over the Z9 and his CPU temps when OC'ing an i5K are much much higher than what I have got from a number of rigs using the Z9. He is looking to add more fans (more money) and frankly I can't see the benefit of the coolermaster over the Z9 plus.

If you prefer the coolmaster case that's cool (no pun intended lol), seeing as it's on offer you get that fan free technically. Myself i would probably consider putting a bigger fan (140mm, change the colour too maybe to be different) at the front and move that front fan to the top of the case. Rule of thumb is the bigger the fan the more air it shifts and makes less noise ;)

If you can't fit a 140mm at the front it will fit on the top just fine and you could add another one later if you felt it was necessary. You can adjust where the fans are and wether they expel air or suck it in and see what works best for you.

Top tip now just so you know, when you fit the PSU you dont want to be able to see it's fan. It should be sucking in cool air from the underneath of the case, not warm air inside the case. I suggest to people to raise the case up by resting it on some old books or whatever to help get air underneath the case.

Good luck with the upgrade, any questions or problems you know where to find us....enjoy :)

Thanks for the advice, On the PSU ive chosen the stickers upside down if i choose to aim the main fan into the case. Aint what i want :') Im stuck on the CM Case purely because of its looks and size, I will put some grommets in and mod the case eventually

Im happy with it, its close to silent except the front fan :S Quite annoying but i might replace that anyhow i aint a huge fan of LED fans :')
