I think someone posted the stats of Xfire users across the board the other day and there were over 100k people playing CS:S followed in second place by CS1.6 funnily enough.

Each to their own though, I used to play copius amounts of CS and then one day just completley went off it, played it, seen it, done it, done the clan war, got the t-shirt...you know.

I played CSS all the time until I played the L4D demo.

It's still a good game to pick up and play when I'm off out or just simply don't have the time to play a full game of L4D.

Valve are good but I have 2 criticisms:

1. Release your stuff when you promise to ffs, even delaying the release date by a day and releasing it early would be miles better then late.
2. Take note of the UK as well as the US with regard to peak times. If it can be helped stop taking steam friends down for routine maintenance at these times.

Tbh generally though they do a good job, and nobody is perfect.
