Replace the case and PSU with a good quality case + PSU, and change motherboard (Foxconn are low quality boards imo) 2GB of RAM will help with BF2. Asus ATI cards are overpriced, go for the cheapest.

thanx m8.. so what if i changed the 1 gig ram to 2 gig, ASUS SKT-775 P5L-VM 1394 S/V/L M-ATX is the best motherboard i can get  erm change the CPU to 'INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6400 1066FSB SKT775' and the ASUS 512MB RADEON X1950XTX HDCP PCI-E g-Card is £250 is that to expensive?

thanks agen m8

I would go for X1950XT and overclock it. 2GB ram is basically a must in todays games. Try staying away from cheap PSU's. I would recomend a 600W PSU and it will leave upgrade room. Definatley go CoreDuo2 for a new build like that. Samsung, seagate or western digital are the drives to go with. Im using 4 samsung sataII drives atm and they are great ;).

Not sure if the X1950 series is worth it over X1900XT? look for benchmarks. You could do with proper dedicated soundcard, onboard will do for now though (I'm using onboard Realtek 882) I despise Creative Labs, but they seem to have gaming market monopoly  for music look elseware.

I would say go conroe, because the price/performance ratio is much better, perhaps get an E6300 with an aftermarket cooler and then you can overclock it, as for the GFx card the x1950xt is good, or if you are on a budget then get the 7600GT
