I'm spec'ing a PC for my parents, trying to convince them that in the long run, it's more of a benefit to build your own rather than buy from Dell. I am planning to overclock this to get the most out of this, but could you suggest anything that I could possibly cut back on. As for the monitor, I do have a spare ACER TFT, but it's reasonably old.

Have done, also, I doubt my parents would notice the difference between Vista Basic and Premium, hehehe. So now it's at £643 inc. Vista, VAT + Shipping.

Yeah good idea, do you not think its better to wait till Vista has been 'tried and tested' before delving in. When a new OS hits the shops I have found it always better to let others find the bugs, and problems then purchase it 6months down the line ;)

Meh, maybe, but I'd prefer to be able to utilise the 64-bit, and at least see, I personally won't actually be using the pc *that* much, and It could be a welcome change from the usual.

Maybe Vista might not have 'many' bugs in it......

May be.
