well today in work a friend of mine mentioned he had a picture of his brother holding this strange creature in iraq 'scorpion meets tarantula' he said they were huge and could eat a leg without a person knowing as they slept, after searching google for 5 min i've found they are real and called camel spiders

This forum has lived off camel spiders for quite a while now I'm afraid, they are well known in these parts and certainly nothing new. I'm sure a forum search would have shown you just how popular they were/are.
