planning on watercooling very soon and wanted this spec checked over.

i will watercooling everything including motherboard.

spec is...asus rampage 3 with a i7920,card is a 6870 but looking to change this and go crossfire but undecided as of now.

i know on the list i have missed a few parts out like mobo block and a few compression fitting's.

the theme will be black and white sso black compression fitting's is a must.

this is what i have come up with so far....

and idea's or thought's would be appreciated.

Looks good buddy, 2 360s and 2 pumps? are you running two loops? A single loop will be enough even with two rads. I'd go for a 360+240 to save you some cash. What fans are you running? Have you also considered coolant or distilled water? If so you will need to consider a kill coil or biocide.

ill stick with 2x360's i think.

im using enermax fans and ill be using distilled water with a kill coil if the res can take it.

Why do you want to run two loops btw? The temp differences are only marginal and you would save £80 for about 2 degrees difference with GPUs in the loop, 0 with just CPU) and less hassle lol.

A better basket:

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK D5 Vario Pump & Alphacool HF D5 Top Value Combo £79.98
1 x EK Supreme HF CPU Waterblock - Nickel Plexi **2011 Compatible** £55.79
1 x XSPC EX360 120mm Radiator - Black £49.99
1 x Phobya 5,25" Single Bay Reservoir Black £23.98
1 x Masterkleer Hose Pack PVC 15,9/11mm (7/16ID) Clear 3.3m £10.88
8 x Bitspower Compression Fitting 7/16" [16/11mm] - G1/4" - Matt Black WAAD-222 £7.99 (£63.92)
Total : £296.56 (includes shipping : £10.00).

More powerful pump, better radiator and better CPU waterblock.

Obviously, i've adjusted some things to my taste (block colour and tubing) and you can change these easily.

Black block:

The HF blocks are better than the LTX

Also, you could do clear tubing with a plexi block and get some of this fluid:

That way you won't need to bother with kill coils :)

Better block, yes. Better pump, yes. Price:Performance, not really imo. Whilst the LTX is half price of a HF, it doesn't perform more than 3-4 degrees difference. The EX rad is nice but OP wants two rads, and the performance a that EX360 isn't significantly better than the GTS360 tbh.

surely 2x360 rads would be a better option ?

one for the mobo and cpu and the other for the 2xcrossfire cards ?

spec look's good cleeecooo

Yes and no, one rad for each like that will only reduce the temperature by very little amounts. Cooling capability depends more on rad space and ambient temperatures two loops can only cool as low as your ambient, it can only dissipate heat output with respect to radiator space. Hence having two loops does not cause a signifcant difference in temps. In fact you might benefit from using two rads in one loop because the heat output is not constant giving you even more headroom for when components are under stress such as your two crossfire cards.

The only I would change in your basket is the pump to a d5 like Cleecoo suggested as this would provide adequate flow in one loop. The CPU block you have chosen performs very well and it is only £25 whilst changing to the HF would provide better performance it costs double the price of your initial block. The LTX will be within 0-5 degrees of the HF at half the price.

Keeping things in one loop also makes it a lot tidier and less hassle with tube routing also.

had a closer look at the spec cleeecooo and i do want the pump and res combo ive specked,i also want the black tubing as well.

i dont want a bay res thats why i went for the option of the pump and res.

cant go into to much detail as to why i need those but it will all come clear soon :)

Dear oh dear, i didn't notice that you had two rads in there! For some reason I thought that a single GTS was £70

As 7 says, the EX isn't worth that much over the GTS if you have two rads. if it was one rad, then i'd say it was :)

any particular reason you want a DDC? The D5 is considerabnly more powerful and isn't that much more expensive :)

i'll change the spec according to what you've said

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK D5 Vario Pump & Alphacool HF D5 Top Value Combo £79.98
1 x EK Supreme HF CPU Waterblock - Nickel Acetal **2011 Compatible** £55.99
2 x XSPC EX360 120mm Radiator - Black £49.99 (£99.98)
1 x Phobya Balancer 250 Black Nickel £26.99
1 x Masterkleer Hose Pack PVC 15,9/11mm (7/16ID) UV-Reactive Black 3.3m £10.88
8 x Bitspower Compression Fitting 7/16" [16/11mm] - G1/4" - Matt Black WAAD-222 £7.99 (£63.92)
1 x OcUK Value PSU Bridging Connector (24 Pin) £1.30
Total : £351.06 (includes shipping : £10.00).

OcUK's rads are painfully expensive!! The other place in the OP is a specialist WC store so they'll stock a wider range of rads. IMO, i'd get the EX rads if you can afford it as they'll be better in the long run.
Black tubing has been added. 7, the HF isn't hugely better than the LTX, but if OP can afford it, then i don't see why not :p
4-5 degrees is a considerable amount :D

I suppose, that basket is roughly similar to what I would pick so +1 on that really. I have to agree with the rad prices but hey I'm not economist... oh wait ;)

Out of interest, what would you have done differently?

Money is not a problem as it will be done over a few months with a budget of £500 for everything or near abouts

If doing it over a few months, your budget will only keep increasing!!!

When I first selected all my bits for my initial build, my budget for WC was £250
Then when anbout to do the loop, it was £450

Now, i've spent waaaaayyyy too much :(:p

EDIT:

BTW, what case is this going in to?
Also, if you plan to replace your 6870 with a 580, there's a cheap waterblock for a 580 going in the MM now... :D

I reckon you could get your second gpu and still complete the build to your requirements and within budget M, dont mean to sound like scrooge mcduck but not thought of used parts? - i know i know don't bite my head off :p:D

i know the budget will increase but im fine with that.

the case...that is a close guarded secret at the moment but will be revealed soon :)

the graphic's card,i don't play graphic intensive game's,fps is my main game to be honest with a bit of dead island chucked in.

im not sure what card would match/beat my card so not really sure about that at the moment.
