Hi i have put this spec together from the advice of other forum users on a previous thread.

Before I go ahead and order i would like a final check.

What would be a smaller sized hard drive to order instead of the one i have? possible 320gb to 500gb

i will be using it for cad, cs3, 3dmax with maybe a 20" screen

I am also looking to oc in the future and using 64 bit Vista Home Premium OS

Thanks in advance

Jack

sorry about the question, ill try to explain a bit better,

i would like a smaller hard drive to save money at the moment, my plan is to buy another one when needed eg 2 x 320gb maybe?

with the oc ing i will buy a cooler later and oc then, for now it will remain normal

overal im trying to keep the cost down

nething else needed have any good advice for a first time builder?

Then go for maybe a 250GB drive, 30 ish quid :) I would not buy that case, the Antec gaming case as advised above will be well worth the extra £7.

Just take your time, and dont be afriad to ask questions, these forums are a fountian of knowledge, and most folks will be happy to help :D

Saving money on hard drives can be a bit of a false economy.....cheaper in the long rung to buy bigger as prices overall are so cheap anyway!!

so everythings gone well with the build, its all up and running with vista 64 bit and samsung t200 monitor,

I am now looking to tweek and optimise the system for efficient performance and speed

could any one suggest any tips?

cheers

ok after a few switches i have got this spec,

any advice on any final changes?

whats the difference between the different graphic HD 4850 cards?

jack

Hey! So I went ahead and built this computer, its been running ace ever since (2 years+)

So I have a decision to make......my dad is looking for a HTPC to watch iplayer etc on a 32" Sony bravia LCD TV

My options are:
1) Build a HTPC for around £300 from scratch
2) Upgrade my computer and use the old parts to make a HTPC
3) Give my dad my computer and mod to make quieter and make a new computer for myself for around £600

whats the best value for money verse computer performance?

Is Sandy Bridge a good option?

Cheers

Jack
