Hi there, pretty new to these forums (registered today! woo!) just registered as i'm looking at building a new budget PC as it where.
the musts are: Quad core (shiny!) - runs the latest games (oblivion and Warhammer online when its out)
i already have a graphics card and a hard drive (will be upgraded a few months down the line)
This is my spec so far:
Mobo: Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-221-AS
CPU: Q6600 SLACR 95W edition: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-161-IN
RAM: GeIL 2gb PC2-6400C4 800mhz : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-GL
Graphics card: I have saphire Radion X1800XT, its still runs well and has most of the latest shaders so its still pretty good.
Case: XClio 6030 : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-023-OK
This looks pretty good i did some research and apparently it'll fit a large graphics card and the giant fan makes it nice and cool
PSU: OcUK Huntkey 500w PSU : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-017-OK
Hrd drive: an old maxtor 200gig thingy, its SATA and all that so should be fine
This look ok? racks up to just under 300 quid for quad core, 2 gig of ram and a decent amount of graphical power. The rig should be good for overclocking aswell, but i suppose a non standard CPU fan would be required for that (i'm going for the standard one that comes with it unless you guys recomend otherwise)
thanks for any help guys and gals
Mark
