Check what is the bottleneck in CAD machine?

Hi,

I work for a structural design company and have been doing some CAD monkey work. The PC is nice a beefy and I am not doing any heavy work, just some basic stuff. Anyway, the PC has 2 1920x1200 screens but there is noticable lag and stuttering when moving windows around occasionally.

Things like PDFs especially seem to eat this PC up. Spec list below:

Wondering is there anything that I can do or test to see what is making it be all slow...

The k600 isnt the best quadro out their and only has 1gb ram... i would say the video card.

try updating the drivers as well

I would say this too.
If you haven't installed drivers at all that would certainly cause it. The default Windows drivers for all the cards I've used are universally dreadful - Most easily seen in a browser when scrolling, and the refresh 'stutter' you get.

Get the drivers from the nvidia website and you should be golden - if this turns out to be the problem, of course.
