I'm trying to keep it cheap as possible but with a mind to putting a quad penryn in when they fall to about £100 hence the gigabyte motherboard.

Looks good except from the PSU, seems a little low.
would go for something like the Corsair HX520, looking at that you're going to upgrade to quad in the future

He means the OCZ 4GB 6400 RAM, but id possibly get the GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit, and get two kits.

I've changed the ram to the ocz 6400 and changed the psu and case. Is the psu ok, I'm not planning on going sli or crossfire but as in my original post I may fancy a quad penryn at a latter date.
What oc could I expect to get with the above ?

I'd try get the Corsair 520W, as its future proof.

With that spec, people have got 2.6-3ghz with a retail cooler.

With stock cooler, id say 2.4-6ghz at a guess.
