Hi guys,

I was just after a bit of confirmation on my thought process regarding a problem im having with my network.

Atm ive got my PC connected to my router via LAN, and the router to the cable modem (virgin). Now my problem is that I am intermittently getting issues where I cannot connect from the PC to the internet.

Under networking it tells me I am connected to two networks at once (neither is my network) and neither has a connection to the internet. At this time I am able to log onto the router using its IP, so im thinking my network card and cable to the router are fine.

Also while im having this problem I can connect my laptop via wifi to the router and get on the net, so I figure everything downstream of the router is ok too.

Sooo I think my router must be dead and not talking between the LAN ports or something internal within it.

Ive tried different ports on router and using the second LAN port on my mobo to no avail. Anything else I should try before I get a new one?

PS its a Netgear WGR614 v6, using onboard Realtek LAN on a gigabyte P45 DS3R mobo, Win 7 ultimate

Cheers for the help in advance

I would check the LAN port drivers on the mobo, reinstall with the latest ones if they are available. Might be worth trying a different cable just to be sure as well.
