My stepdads PC has been long over due an upgrade, and I said I would, when I can.

Currently he has:

Pegatron Corp. 2ACF Mobo
AMD A8 3800 CPU

AMD 6570

Going to upgrade to:

AMD FX 6300
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

And new GPU when I can.

Just making sure these two are compatible, normally deal with Intel/Nvidia.

I'm keeping the 6300, but if there is a better Motherboard around 50-70 please suggest, thanks.

I agree with Ted. Good VRM coolers are helpful, that EVO board is a great choice.

I dont agree with teds gigabyte choice though. While being a very decent board for the price (and having the heatsinks) the phase cooling is only 4+1, which (I think is the same as the LE.

This gigabyte motherboard (while annoyingly out of stock) has better phase cooling (then the EVO), 8+2.

The price is very good too. :-).

I'll be honest this advice only applies if your overclocking really. If you weren't id go with Teds gigabyte choice, if uou are overclocking go with the EVO or my gigabyte choice. :)

Ordered the Gigabyte and 6300, thanks guys, other Mobo was a tad too much. Would have liked too though but he only games and doesn't overclock (yet :D)
