Checking power consumption

Is there a tool that can tell me how much power my pc is consuming right now? I remember seeing something like this in a thread but i cant find it anymore. Any help appreciated.

I think the best things are those adapators you can plug into your plug socket, then plug the PC into that. Can't remember the proper name of them however, but you can pick them up for around a tenner. Maybe someone else can give a proper name of it.
