Checking PS3 Hard drive?

My PS3 locked up earlier and I had to power it off by the switch at the back, now the HDD just seems to be slow at accessing. Are there any self test's on the PS3 to check the HDD health?

Did you buy EVHs PS3 ?

I would try reseating the drive, I don;t recall seeing any tests on the PS3 itself.

Normally if the HDD has a problem the PS3 does a repair job by itself.
