Checking who's using my Wifi

Hi all

Is there anyway of seeing who is on my WiFi network, I know its password protected but want to see if anyone in our block of flats is trying to access it

Most routers (even the very basic ones that your isp gives you) will show you a list of connected devices. Go to the router home page and have a look at a few of the options.

Is this done on my PC?

Yes, generally speaking your router will have have an IP like 192.160.0.1 that will allow you to log in via a browser.

Ok great, Sorry to be a pain is there a easy way to find it for a simple person like me lol

Just so you're clear as possible do the following

• Find your router
• Check it for a label which shows admin login and password, and IP address
• If you don't find it, google your make and model of router for details
• Open a new window in your browser via a machine connected to the router via wifi or Ethernet
• Enter the IP into the address bar. E.g. Type : 192.168.0.1
  
• It's very likely you'll require administrator login details to access these settings, they should be on the label. If you can't find them google as you did for the IP.
• If these don't worry they may (and frankly should) have been changed. If you can't work out these login details, you'll have to factory reset the device
• Once successfully logged in, change your username and password to something memorable.

If you’re using Windows then 9 times out of 10 you can type ipconfig /all at a command prompt and the default gateway shown will be the IP address of your router.
